Huay-Bing Law and Sam Mohney are an award-winning director duo whose work spans documentary, commercial, and narrative filmmaking. Drawing from their experiences as Asian American filmmakers and storytellers, they create visually rich films that explore identity, community, and the complexities of contemporary life with empathy and nuance.

The pair met while earning their MFAs in Film Production at the University of Texas at Austin and have been collaborating ever since. Together, they have directed work for clients including Apple, Ozarka, Texas Monthly, JCPenney, and The University of Texas at Austin, bringing a cinematic approach and strong sense of character to every project.

Their narrative and documentary films have been featured on HBO, ESPN, and the BBC, while screening at festivals and venues around the world. Their work has earned recognition including the HBO APA Visionary Award, the Princess Grace Award, and support from organizations dedicated to advancing independent filmmaking and underrepresented voices.

In addition to their commercial and documentary work, Huay-Bing and Sam are developing original narrative projects. Their debut feature film, Good Luck for Now, tells the story of an artist struggling to preserve their creative identity in an increasingly uncertain world. Rooted in the filmmakers’ own experiences navigating art, ambition, and community, the project reflects their belief in the power of storytelling to inspire, entertain, and connect people through shared human experiences.
